Website Search Engine Optimization

SEO in Tyler is just like SEO in Italy or Latvia (wherever that is), and yet aspects of it are entirely different for each client. Knowing the difference and which parts of local SEO and On-site SEO are important and to whom either makes or breaks a web design’s long term traffic numbers.

The short version is that keywords must be in the right place at the right time, or your mom will be the only person ever to see your website.

The long version goes something like this:

Four types of SEO we consider for every client.

1. On-Page SEO

The kind of SEO that you probably know something about. You search for red Nikes, and on the first page up high, you see the words, red Nikes. On-page optimization includes all of the things that your customers will see when they visit your website. This is what we call content or verbiage.

I am trying to explain SEO for website design to you so that Google will read these words (they cannot yet see images, but they can read the tags and captions.)

Effective on-page SEO includes primarily informative content. Not just slightly informative, but content that’s going to rank well has to solve problems or educate readers. The information you’re sharing should be relevant to the subject.
The most important part of on-page SEO is making sure your content is engaging. Many other factors go into getting a page to rank well in search results. The example I gave earlier, keywords, is an important one. If you’re writing a detailed piece on a subject, you will include many relevant and related keywords. Ensuring that those keywords are optimized to meet your client’s goals can boost their SEO.

Beyond Standard SEO in Web Design

On-page SEO goes beyond keywords. Having a site that’s easy for visitors to navigate is essential. Let’s say your visitors want additional information, but it’s hard to figure out where it is. They’re not likely to stick around to figure it out. Focusing on providing a good user experience is crucial to the retention and return of visitors.

2. Technical or Code Specific SEO for Web Design

Technical SEO is related to on-page SEO but is concerned with things that go on behind the scenes. It is Magic. Basically, if you knew this stuff, you would have no need of us. Here are some of the things we consider: optimizing images, using a secure HTTPS connection, caching information to speed up load times, uploading detailed sitemaps, schema markups, HTML optimization, responsive design aspects per platform, individual page load speed design, redirects, internal links, etc. Boring to normal people but fun talking about at parties.

3. Off-page SEO in Web Design

Defining off-page SEO is more complicated. The most important part of off-page optimization is link-building. This is an important part of SEO, and it’s also the most difficult. Getting links to your site helps bring in visitors, and it shows Google that other people around the internet value your content and that your site is informative. The Domain Authority these links build can drive traffic to a site better than any other SEO technique.

Link Building as part of SEO

Getting links from informative sites will make a difference in how your site is ranked. While it’s impossible to measure the effect of a single link, we will say that getting a good one can provide a considerable boost to your rankings. Getting links from sites with high Domain Authority, however, is extremely difficult. Many companies offer sketchy services that promise links that can be purchased. We can show you legitimate ways to get useful links to support your off-site SEO.

Social Media to support Off-page SEO in Web Design

Social media is another off-page citation that will make a big difference in your SEO. Suppose people are talking about and linking to your content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or other social media platforms. In that case, search engines understand that it’s of value and help other people find it. Having a piece of content that’s popular on social media (shared or linked to often) gets you a lot of traffic, which will help your SEO.

Citations for local Web Design Success

Citations can be understood as links from other sites to yours but are a special kind of link. They are links from support sites, review sites, social media sites, blogs, or listing sites. Some of these can be bought, and all of them can be manipulated to your advantage. Yelp would be an example of a citation site. Different citation sites apply more directly to some industries.

4. Local SEO for Web Design in Tyler or East Texas

While many businesses exclusively operate online, thousands of companies have a physical location where they need attention. If customers aren’t coming through your door, you’re not making money. You must take your location and its digital footprint into account when doing your SEO. The many ways to take advantage of your brick and mortar location start with claiming your Google My Business listing.

Google My Business for Web Design in Tyler or your Local City

Claiming your Google My Business page ensures that your name, address, phone number, opening hours, reviews, and other useful information are prominently displayed in search results and Google Maps. The listing itself must be optimized with images, descriptive data, and reviews from customers or clients. Google maps can send you as many customers a month as a good ad campaign when set up correctly.
